ITEM DESCRIPTION- WanderCARE 100T
WanderCARE 100T provides monitoring of a wanderer in the home. The system
alerts the caregiver when the wanderer goes beyond a set range and provides
tracking capability up to 1 mile so that the wanderer can be located and returned.
For Alzheimer's Residents, Developmentally Disabled, Dementia Sufferers, and their Families
Wanderers can be monitored using a WanderCARE transmitter worn on the wrist, ankle, belt or carried in a special fanny pack. The transmitter is uniquely coded providing a personal identifier for the individual. The transmitter reports in every 12 seconds sending information on the wanderer's activity level and approximate location. The caregiver can set a specific area of movement for the person which can be changed if needed.
When the wanderer moves out of the set range, the system begins to analyze the movements. If the person fails to return within 1.5 minutes (adjustable) an audible alarm will sound and the caregiver will be prompted to take action.
The WanderCARE can also be connected to a voice dialer which will notify up to four people (or digital pagers) of an emergency.
System Information and Menus
The WanderCARE 1OO provides information for the caregiver using a 32 character back lit LCD display. The system uses a simple menu and scroll buttons to allow the caregiver to adjust monitoring distance, delays and select options. All information is easy to read so that action can be taken quickly.

TRACKING INSTRUCTIONS & SET UP MENU
Many home health-care individuals with special needs wander unexpectedly, require constant supervision, and are in danger of causing harm to themselves and inconveniencing others.
The WanderCARE resident monitoring system
can improve the quality of life and quality of care by providing "constant
monitoring" for the loved one who wanders.
When automatically triggered by the WanderCARE 100T alarm, the AVD-45 Dialer
calls up to 4 telephones or cellular phones with your 16 second message in
any language, or up to 4 pagers with numeric messages. The unit automatically
redials busy and/or unanswered numbers. Its Universal Dial Tone (UDT) works
with any phone system, while its EEPROM memory retains programming phone numbers
and voice messages in the event of power failure. The caller is very easy
to use, and comes with LCD verification and Easy Prompt Programming.
The following items come with the WanderCARE 100T system (except Roof
Mount Antenna), but you might still order extra quantity, below:
WanderCARE Roof Mount Antenna (Price: $87.00)
WanderCARE Directional Tracking Antenna (Price: $89.00)
WanderCARE Dipole "T" Antenna (Price: $55.00)
WanderCARE A/C Power Transformer (Price: $11.00)
Attaching The Transmitter
The WanderCARE transmitter is versatile and can be attached to the wanderer' s ankle, wrist, belt or carried in a special fanny pack. Since most wanderers show little tolerance to foreign objects being attached to them, placing the transmitter on the belt or using the fanny pack has been widely accepted.
The fanny pack is a CARE exclusive and is not only accepted but enjoyed by the individual. Since fanny packs are popular and can carry needed items (candy, toys, brush etc.) the wanderer wants to wear it. In addition, a special locking buckle is supplied.
Tracking A Wanderer
When a wanderer leaves the range of the WanderCARE system he/she can
be located using the internal tracking capability of the system. By
inserting the key and selecting the TRACKING MODE, the system becomes
a powerful long range location device. The unit is carried outdoors
and will operate 5 hours on internal batteries. Instructions are immediately
displayed alerting the caregiver to a course of action. An external
directional antenna is used to determine the most direct path to the
wanderer and distance is displayed each time a transmission is received.
For The Family Who CARES...
WanderCARE eliminates much of the stress-and much of the heavy expense of minute by minute close observation of Alzheimer's victims and those with special needs. Because it allows those under supervision a greater degree of freedom, it fosters independence and self-sufficiency. Families, care centers, and institutions who must provide this level of care will discover that WanderCARE improves the quality of life for those they are responsible for while allowing for a more normal care environment.
WanderCARE is providing relief for families all across America:
"Thank you WanderCARE for allowing Christopher to live a more normal
life. I feel our entire family is more relaxed, knowing that Christopher can
move and play without getting lost".
JoannMarner, Brighton, Iowa
"The clinical team has been using WanderCARE for 10 months with positive
results. The client involved has decreased his elopement behavior in the day
program from a baseline of two (2) AWOLs in two months to zero (0) AWOLs in
nine (9) months when wearing the WanderCARE device. Financially, the facility
is realizing a savings of $65 per day / $17,000 per year from the reduced
staffing WanderCARE allows us."
Wayne Pineau, Director Social Services,
Fernall School, Boston MA
"Your device allows (my client) Chris to appear normal, feel safe, and
gives his family a sense of security. On behalf of the family, I want to thank
you for all of your help in keeping Chris safe. I wish the best of luck with
the marketing and successfulness of this incredible device and hope that others
from the State of Florida will benefit from it as we have".
